JOB SUMMARY

The Market Cashier will welcome and serve all guests at the Carson Valley Market which provides gas, diesel and select grocery items.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide a friendly greeting to all guests
• Process payment utilizing the POS system while ensuring accuracy of cash/credit card transactions
• Accurately count assigned bank at beginning and end of each shift
• Follow all cash handling policies and procedures and keep variances to a minimum
• Clean the market, restrooms and gas pumps
• Maintain outdoor supplies such as washer fluid, towels, etc. and inventory of store products
• Show willingness and effort to work as a team
• Regularly provide information to servers and Supervisor/Manager regarding guest reactions, comments, or problems that may arise and any safety/appearance concerns to ensure a quality and safe environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Cash handling experience in a fast-paced high-energy service environment required
• Must be able to bend, stand, walk and exert well-paced mobility during entire shift
• Must be able to lift at least 20lbs regularly
• Excellent people skills and ability to courteously
• Must pay attention to detail including cleanliness and safety
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and listen attentively
• Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
